I am going to glassbed my Vanguard 7mm RM SS. Will be using a Medalist stock from Bell and Carlson. Any pitfalls I need to look out for?
THANKS Jerry

Make sure the action is level and all is good to go. Before you apply the release agent, assemble the barreled action in the stock and make certain that the action is not going to bind. Tighten the guard screws, and then with your hand wrapped around the barrel and forearm, release the front guard screw and make sure nothing moves. Be sure to use plenty of release agent...

I don't know if you know this...but plain cider vinegar will cut the excess blobs of bedding that may escape around the stock...I use a small bowl of it & dab paper towel in it to wipe away excess before it sets up hard. I've glass bedded my medalist stock in my .358 Norma Magnum...but I do the entire barrel channel too...
Where the vinegar works real well to remove squeezed out excess bedding.
Best Regards,
Tom

Search the forum for other strings on the subject. Read all you can. Take your time and use lots or release agent. If you miss a key step you can make a big mess. Every part of the stock tha may get some excess squeezed out on it I have taped very carefully. Get yourself a little exacto knife that you will use to trim edges after about 9 hrs before it gets too hard.

Read a lot and good luck.

I've bedded a bunch of rifles....get yourself a box of Q-tips and some WD-40 to get out the excess bedding compound that squishes out...works like a charm. You will use a bunch of Q-tips, so have plenty on hand, shoot the tips with the WD-40 and drive on!

Best,

Hank

I put masking tape on the stock and coat the works with wax. Makes clean up easier. I use white vinegar to get acraglas, marine tex, and all other epoxies off my hands.
