Gents:

If one goes to Brownell's website and looks under Rifle Parts he can view some after market bolt handles. One by Talley and the others by (I think?) McFarland.

Does anyone have any experience good/bad/otherwise with any of these? My dad has a BRNO ZKK 602 in 375 H&H to use as the basis of a project and one of the items on his list is a new bolt handle - something with a touch of class maybe in a teardrop shape?

At any rate, thanks for the info!

Half Moon's large Oberndorf handle would be just the ticket for a BRNO 602.

I have used the Max McFarland bolt handles on three projects and they have worked out really well.

Jerome Glimm, a FEGA member also markets a checkered bolt knob that I use often.

As for the plain ones, I use this one from Brownell's, the Mauser one:

I have a Glimm, a couple Talleys and 3 McFarlands. The McFarland knobs are closer to the Dakota and pre-64 Winchester style, which have a more sharp "flair" to the knob end. The Talleys are more "teardrop" or pear-like in shape

JSL, the appearance of the ZKK bolt can also be improved by simply tigging the hole in the knob:

Or you can get someone like Tom Burgess or AHR to make one with a little more recess for a lower scope:

Those actions are finished 1909 Argentines. They have been drilled and tapped, rear bridge done, new bolt handles, bottom metal reshaped, straddle floorplates done, timney triggers and are for sale, all three.

Email me if you are interested.
