Does anyone know if Bonanza Dies are still being made?

If not, did some other company buy them out?

Thanks, Bob

Thanks gsp-

The reason I asked: I discovered a crack in one of my FL sizers. I wonder if it would be a problem getting it replaced (9.3x64)? Does anyone have contact info for Forster?

Thanks again, Bob

Yikes,

For a minute there I thought you were talking about Hoss, Little Joe, and Hop Sing. [Big Grin]

Sorry I can't help with a contact for Forster, but surely they have a web site.

Good luck

Bob, I have a set of the Bonanza dies, Forester wouldn't back them. Give them a try, hope you have better luck than I did.

I have NEVER heard of cracked dies before! I sure hope these guys value their reputation & stand behind their product! Bob please let us know if they live up the their name. I will be basing any further purchases of Foster products on the out come. Sounds like bad metalurgy to me. [Eek!]

Yes I would like to know also.
I have a few Bonanza and Forster dies.
Redding has been the dies that I have been buying lately.

Well, Forster doesn't currently offer any dies for that cartridge. Unfortunately, nor do Redding or RCBS.

Good luck,

Bob, I got to thinking [Eek!] . Is it a crack or a scratch? Mine were scratched, didn't know this until I went to use them the first time. Bought the gun, dies, brass etc. in a package deal. I ended up using Flitz and JB to polish it out. You can still see it some what but it does not mark the brass any longer.
Also you may have somthing like a hair sized piece of brass that has been pressed in to the die sometime or another, it doesn't take much either. Looks like a brass smear on the inside of your die.

It is definitely a crack- it is about 1/2" long on the inside and goes for about 4 threads on the outside of the die.

I can see daylight through it. [Frown]

I have Emailed them; I'll let you know the outcome.

Thanks, Bob

To all interested:

I got an email reply from Forster today---

Mr. Stephenson,
Thank you for your email message. We purchased the rights to manufacture all the Bonanza tools twenty years ago, back in 1983. There is no warranty for the old Bonanza tools, although we do anything we can to repair or correct any problems we can. What caliber die cracked? Perhaps it was one of the old dies that had the carbide ring?
This is something I have never seen in my 23 years with Forster.
Best regards, good shooting and hoping that you have a wonderful Memorial Day today.
Forster Products, Inc.

I will email them back with the info they asked for, BUT don't expect much out of them; no-one evan signed their name to the above message.
