I was honored to have the company of the owner(and his wife)of Schultz and Larson visiting the shop today.

Jorgen Nielsen is from Denmark visiting our country and stopped in to visit.

He stopped to show me his new scope rings and bases that he will soon be selling thru Brownells and I must say that I'm dearly impressed. Great stuff!

I believe he hinted at being at the Shilen swap meet in Texas Saturday so you folks down that way should look for him.

I'll post photos shortly of the bases and rings he left me for a Mauser......They are quick release and reportedly the scope can be replaced with incredibly small target error.

Cool stuff Vapo! Some cool new rings would be a welcome thing in the market me thinks.
Look forward to the pics. Will there be bases available for various rigs??

Hopefully for Sako dovetails!!! Smiler

These are on bases for a '98 Mauser and you'll have to ask Jorgen if they are made for other models as well. Fully machined and extremely precise fits.

Both bases can be attached in two places front and back.....

The tightening lever is keyed via hex bolt and is attachable so that the wing is any direction desired within 30 degrees.

The set of rings shown are high rings but are available in four different heights.

A little better detail of the locking claws.

Shultz & Larsen does not import to the United States their very fine line of rifles but if you like you can coax Jorgen to do so. They are among the most innovative rifles with custom features. The bolt locks intothe barrel and not the receiver and the barrel and action are not threaded together. When you see one of these guns you just have to reconsider everything you ever thought about bolt action rifles.

They also have a takedown model for those that prefer that style of rifle.

Butchloc, watch your Brownell's catalog.....I suspect the next catalog will have them.

There's a slim chance they will also have a barreled action too but that if quite iffy.

i remember when they did import them, days of the old 7x61 sharpes and hart, they were a very well made piece then, but they didn't sell well. i guess the appearance and pricetags chased buyers away. still see one for sale from time to time

The local Cabela's has two of the S&Ls in 7X61 Sharpe and Hart they can't sell. I found it interesting they are both marked 1 in 12" twist on the barrel. A bit slow for most users.

In the mid 1950's before the Mark V, Weatherby used the S&L action to make 378's.

If you folks in Texas see him at the swap meet please ask him to reply to the rifling twist remarks. (He posts here as Jorgen)

The brochure he left me does not specify what twist rates his new rifles use.

fla3006, was that a rear locking lug action?
The ones they are making now are three lugs foreward (actually six) and a 60 degree bolt lift.

I believe it was an M-50??? It's similar to the M-65 but larger. And yes it was a rear locking rifle shooting the 378. Roy hadn't built the Mark V yet.
I've taken 3 M-65's apart for cleaning, the inletting was flawless! You couldn't get a drop of Acraglas in there!
There are 1 in 10 twist 7x61, seen with my own eyes. The more common being the 1 in 12 twist.

The old rear-locking S&L was chambered and imported in the "Norma" line of magnums: .308 Norma, .358 Norma, and the 7x61 Sharp & Hart which Norma sort of "adopted" as its own.

I've never used one, but they were reported to be a slick rifle.
