What action has a 7 3/8" (7 11/16"), measured with a tape measure, distance between the action screws? I have a semi-inletted stock, need to know what action will fit in it.

Which is it, 7 3/8" or 7 11/16"? There is 5/16" difference between them. 98 Mausers arer 7.835" c/c (according to Mr. Kuhnhausen). Show us a picture. "There are only three kinds of people; those who can count, and those who can't."

Try this link and click on the various makeers at the top of the page. It has a lot of good info and should answer your question with a little research. http://www.boydboys.com/receivers.htm William Berger True courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway. - John Wayne The courageous may not live forever, but the timid do not live at all.

7 7/16 (I guess it's 3/8th's though which might be a rem 700 long action) Thanks for the link. I'll try to get a picture later.

If it is inletted for a flat bottom action it is not for a Remington. If it is inletted for a round receiver, that narrows it down to a few receivers.

Nice peice of wood. It oks to my untrained eye like a commercal Mauser. If you have an action in mind fill the action screws with dowels and re-drill to what you need. Theprolem wll most lkely be the bottom metal. You might have to look a while to find some that is ot too small so you can re-inlet around it. I disagree that it is for a Mauser. There is no bolt stop/ejector cutout on the left side of the stock. To me it looks like Rem 700. You can see an area in the right rear of the inletting that looks like it is for the factory safety cutout. Thanks for the help. I'm pretty happy with the wood, especially since it was only $45.

Great deal and unusual to see a Rem 700 Mannlicher. Hope you use it as a fullstock and show us how it turns out. I really like the little Model 7 fullstocks. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.
