Good shape too.

speerchucker30x378It does sort of look like something you might find on a luthier or pianoforte technicians bench bench. But who knows. Brass is generally associated with no marr and no spark environments.

lee440Kobe got it half right, but it is an oscillating muffler bearing, unlike a fixed muffler bearing.

Well I do know what it is. I toldja what it was straight off. First reply I might add. It's a model 70, brass enigma! "What do you do with an enigma" you ask? Well you try to figure it out what the hell it is! "What has everyone been doing with it" I ask? Well, trying to figure out what the hell it is! So it's an enigma and it's obviously in good shape and it's working just fine because everyone has been trying to figure it out. LOL

Bestestest damned enigma I've seen in months if I have to say so myself!

Might just try strapping it to your wiener with zip ties or some kitchen cord. Probably will hurt way less and you'll do better marketing it. LOL

Steve E.With the help of others it looks like it could be some kind of 'marking gauge'? Does the round brass part look like it slid back and forth at one time?

BaxterBIt’s got that look like it belongs on a theodolite - somewhere. Was the guy a surveyor?
13 December 2017, 03:14
impala#03On the Model B, there was a strut that went from the muffler bearing to the donofonalator tube. Some of them were similar to the one in the picture.
16 December 2017, 07:17
sambarman338Perhaps it would help, Rich, if you told us where you found it and what makes you even think it could be something to do with firearms. The round bit has the appearance of a key or button on a musical instrument.
