Here's the deal. I bought a Remington Model 700 a dozen or so years ago when I got orders to AK. It served me well there, as well as in Africa, and now in SC. I never liked the so-called safety lock on the bolt shroud or the 'plastic/poly' stock finish/coat. I'd like to find a reputable smith who could do the following for me: - Replace the stock with some nice wood, oil finished, and glass bed the action, as well as install an old school looking brick red recoil pad. - Install the "I don't need a stinkin' key-op'd safety" bolt shroud I bought - Install some bottom metal I'll buy and have engraved by Brian Gouse - Perhaps CCH the receiver Who would you recommend? Of course, I may just see if I can find someone to build a 7x57 for me instead. | ||
