After welding a new bolt handle do you sometimes have to regarded the cam surface that engages the cocking piece? Opening the bolt is difficult at the top of the lift when opening. Engagement is good, no galling that I can see or feel.

But I usually don't unless it galls. Was it smooth before you welded on the new handle?

Good question but I did not weld the new handle. Handle is a little shorter than I like by ~1/4" but just a little stiff. Found light drag at the bolt lock and plunger for the 3 position safety. All surfaces seem to be well mated. I put it in the stock and felt better. I will do the bolt cycle thingy for as long as I can stand it. Somewhere in my mind I think it is a stacking of tolerances that is contributing to the issue, But, it will still hunt.
