I have a gun project that is just about finished, throat is still a little short. The gunsmith got sick and sent the gun back to me. I've watched him finish out the throats on other rifles and was wondering where one rents a throat reamer and do they come with the "t" handle tool to finish them? Perry

https://www.reamerrentals.com/default.asp https://4drentals.com/ I've rented reamers form both and had no issues with either. If you're going to ream just the throat I'd still recommend getting the chamber reamer as it will be a little easier to do a good job with the additional guidance provided by the body flutes and the throat depth is controlled for you. Also spend the money for headspace gauges and pilots if you get a reamer with changeable bushings. Reamers don't come with t-handles so you will need to provide your own. Ok, if all you need is a throat lengthened then you do not need a finish reamer, which will only give a standard throat, which I assume you already have. Few finish reamers any more do not have throats. There are no gauges for your throat depth; your bullets seated to where you want them, plus whatever freebore/jump you want, is what you have to ream out. What caliber is it? Now, if the entire chamber is short, then you need the finish reamer as he stated above. And gauges. No handle comes with a rental.

Head space, finished chamber all complete. This is just to seat bullet further out as per my reloads. It is a 280 Ackley Improved, the Nosler chamber if that matters. Perry
