I picked up a Interarms mark X mauser chambered, Is the intrearms mark X a good action? It looks nice and I didn't give alot for it. I came with dies but no bass. What case can I use to make it or do I just start out with .404 jefferys brass? Any Help would be great. Thank you Joe.

The Howell designed used by AHR was a long 06.
The 416 Howell is based on a shortened 404 case. Steve shows the 404 head as .537 the 416 Howell as .54 and the ultra mags as .534. Ultramag cases would be cheaper if they work

The MKX is a decent commercial 98. Normally need a little smoothing. Many don't like the slide safety.

When I'm shortening a case .365" I trim it part way run in the sizing die the trim the rest of the way.

As usual just my $.02
