Stefan,,, That sucks Big Time. The guy that did that needs a drill pit ran into his head for a labotamy !!

I had a supposed "real good gunsmith" drill and tap a mauser a couple years ago and He drilled right though the lug meat area also, instead of foward into the recess. He also screwed up the rear bridge holes , They were off to one side and one was plugged and redrilled through have the plug which I picked out the half plug when I discovered his "custom" work when I pulled the bases off when I got home.

I was pissed ,and he did pay for a new reciever .

Ive learned To check any drill tap work when buying a old rifle like that. Seems alot drill /tap jobs are F%$#ed up.

My Rem 720 actin Has one front hole not center to good , I didnt find out till I took the bases off when I got the rifle home. It has buehler mounts and the bases looked like they are on straight. The other holes look very well centered just the rear front hole was about .010 off to one side.
