Does anyone have a source for stainless steel bolt handles for a model 70. What I would really like a is a checkered, three panel handle, but would settle for a Oberndorf shaped one.

Most of the time you see win m 70 in stainless with bolt handles like the one in the above picture are just modified original handles. Just tig weld the original checkering then recontour and then 3 panel checker. It looks like the handle has been straightend or something, but same thing cut it, straighten it, weld it re contour. now that i look at the picture longer he also did a nice job in recontouring the rear tang, maybe some stainless weld up their too, NICE

James Anderson supplied the stainless bolt handle - and he also recontoured the tang and bolt release and barrel contouring. I suggest contacting a really good builder and have them make one for you. Penrod sells stainless bolt handles, but not checkered ones like the one pictured. If you want it checkered he must do the work according to Mark himself. Bijou, that is not a factory bolt worked over and tig welding up the factory piece would be a pain in the arse. Thansk for the tip, Tanker.

Anyone that make a carbon steel one should have a stainless one. it just a matter of swapping materials. 416 stainless is not that much harder to machine. I need to grind a form tool and just start cutting my own to offer here. www.KLStottlemyer.com Deport the Homeless and Give the Illegals citizenship. AT LEAST THE ILLEGALS WILL WORK
