PSwhich m70 action for .284
I'm looking at getting a .284 built on a M70 action but I've being told that the "push fed" has less feeding issues than the "controlled fed".
I'm looking to a couple of you gurus out there to broaden my knowledge of the best action and the reasons why so can aviod a dud rifle. It will be used for deer and mountain hunting.
Thanks PS

D HumbargerEither type action will work fine. The controled feed action will would be a better choice if you are planning to lay out a bit of cash on a "custom rifle" as they retain the classic Mauser extracter so sought after on custom guns.

<9.3x62>Model 70 PF is a very good action. For a 284, a 70 SA PF would be my first choice.

Gringo CazadorI would go with a PF, unless your going to drop a big dime, then go with CRF. Will work, whoever does the work needs to know how to make a 284 feed. My 284 is on a Short Action ruger tang safety.

Savage99Get some 284 brass and make up dummy loads without powder or primers. Carry them in the car and when you see a rifle for sale your interested in try the test rounds to see how they feed.
The 284 feeds fine out of my 260 Rem and 7mm-08 M84 Kimbers and they are CRF.
