Montana Rifleman 1999 stainless short action Lilja stainless 22 barrel with a 1 in 12 twist and .610 diameter at the muzzle McMillan synthetic featherweight stock with a Decelerator recoil pad Pillar bedded and floated New England back-up iron sights Leupold Quick Release bases with low rings Bead blasted finish Trigger set at 3 lbs Leupold VX-lll 2.5x-8x matte scope
I only have forty rounds through it, but it is already starting to print a reasonable group with factory ammunition. With the Decelerator recoil pad, this 7.5 lb rig (rifle with bases) is very easy to shoot. CP.
I have a short stainless mag MRC action sitting in the safe waiting to become a near duplicate to your rifle! I am currently trying to decide between the 350 mag and a wildcat 338 WSM. Did you have to do any work to the feed rails? I am very interested in hearing how your rifle performs!

My gunsmith had to change-out the magazine box to get it to feed properly. Apparently, MRC as developed a specific box for the short mags. It has triangular shaped cutouts on both long sides and my .350 also needed this modification to function reliably. CP.
Calif. Hunter, although McMillan has the MRC 1999 SA pattern, my gunsmith reported that he had to do a fair amount of inletting work in the tang area and barrel channel to get a fit that satisfied him. CP.
Very nice, got a question on the front sight, looks like a NECG BB front sight, but part of it looks stainless and BB looks blued or is that just the angle of the pic.
Very nice gun.

Canadian Lefty, although I am only shooting factory ammunition, this rifle still consistently performs around an honest inch. I am very pleased with this project, and again find this rifle extremely pleasant to shoot. I did have an issue with the safety falling forward from the middle position when I fast stroked the action. However, it took Dennis about 10 minutes to fix this problem.
Gringo Cazador, the New England sights are blued and the stainless Lilja barrel was bead blasted to a dull gunboat gray. CP.
