Gentlemen I just bought two DWM 1909 Argentine mausers and I feel like I can fly http://www.accuratereloading.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=701803&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=21&fpart=1 However I am giving a friend and AR member PhilipDK advice on what action to pick. The options are VZ-24 from Brno or m98 from Steyr The both seam to operate smooth and are in the same shape. which one should he pick for a rifle project ? Ginger or Mary-Ann ? The VZ-24 is the one to the rear and the Steyr is the one next to it. The middle one is a Obendorf and the first one is MY DWM Cheers, Andr

If it were me and I were going to customize one and keep the other original, I think I'd customize the VZ-24 and leave the Steyr as is. I would imagine that the VZ is of the same quality as the Steyr and more numerous too. The Czechs are supposed to have made a fine rifle action. Just my opinion though.

Buy both! Make one into a 7x57 & the other a 9.3x62!

I would be tempted to make a 9.3x64 or a .404 Jeffery (I am currently having a jeff built on a 1909). The 9.3x62 is also a good suggestion.
