Just purchased a Rem Model 7 SS/synthetic. I would like to glass bed but have not been successful with the typical Rem and Win syn stocks. AcraGlas won't stick to them This Model 7 has a stock that seems to be of a different material than the typical syn stock from Remington. Anybody know if Acra Glas ofr other bedding mayrtial stick th the Model 7 stock? NRA Life Member NRA Charter Member Golden Eagles

I'm pretty sure its injection molded like the rest you mentioned. Unless its a custom shop rifle. Have you cycled your PF upside down lately????? God Bless http://www.davidchristmangunmaker.com/ http://i257.photobucket.com/al...wnhound/f66262d4.jpg

I was fondling two of the youth models yesterday, the stocks are of a different composition that previously. There's a little bit of texture at the pistol grip and on the forearm, I didn't see a mold line on it either. Interestingly enough, the metal finish is the same semi-gloss at what was on the last run of XP-100R's, and these aren't custom shop guns.

I have used Acraglass to bed a 308 in a model 7. It seemed to stick well but I was careful for really rough up the areas where I needed to bed the action just before applying the bedding material. You may want to consider pillar bedding also. This gun belonged to a friend's son and would not shoot less than a 6 inch group at 100 yards. The point of impact kept changing also. Found out the point of impact problem was the scope (even a Swarovski can go bad). Just bedding closed the groups down to about 3 to 4 inches. Knowing it should do better, went back and pillar bedded the stock and then reglassed the action (I know we should have started with the pillars first but the friend wanted to do the minimal amount of work possible) and that took it to about 1.5 inch groups. I figured that was as good as we were going to get and certainly good enough for a big game hunting rifle.
