Does anyone have any experience in working with the '60s Mossberg M800 triggers or know of a gunsmith who is familiar with these triggers? These rifles were made in several CF calibers. I have picked up one in .243 Winchester in the Mannlicher stock configuration. It is a neat rifle but the trigger is a horror in the trigger pull department. It breaks at something like 35 pounds. Not really but it has to be in the 10-12 pound area or greater. I badly need a knowledgable person to bring it down to 4 - 6 pounds or so. The trigger breaks cleanly, no slipping etc. It is to be used as a deer rifle, not for groundhogs so I don't want it a pull lighter than 4 - 6 pounds. If anyone can help on this, please let me know.

Mine was the same, simply from age. There was a depression in the middle of the sear. We stoned it out and it's very nice now. It's my favorite rifle.
