Grabbed a laser scanner from a friend last year and just used it to build a replacement external hammer for a shotgun using the existing hammer as a pattern. Lots of computer work and a big learning curve but I think future projects will go much faster. Added flood coolant to my Haas Tm-1.....huge improvement in milling and a huge mess in the shop to match.

Beats making it with files! Too cool.

Nice work Steve ! The prep work and learning curve for such work can never be fully conveyed through pictures alone.

Just think about leaving the left side door open on the VMC enclosure, and after about 10 min of that 1/2 hp coolant pump working , then you have a big mess to deal with.

I only have done that once.

But feel your pain.
