I needed a better trigger pull so I have worked over the the sear notch and stoned it smooth and also the top of the trigger that makes contact with the sear. I have the pull down to 1 3/4lbs but it still feels heavier. It's ok but not like my contenders crisp feel at that weight pull. Could anyone tell me what I should do or look for? I don't want to remove too much metal and make it unsafe. Thanks Jules

all it takes is a simple change of the spring. Takes about 45 seconds. Pull the mainspring out and go to a lighter one. They are simple to find at any hardware store.

Good advice from butchloc. This will give you a good pull weight as I did that on my 77/22 Mag. If you aren't satisfied with that, you can go further (Read $$$$) by replacing the sear and trigger with aftermarket ones as sold by Brownell's. I went the whole route and now have a one pound pull, which is very crisp. Don

Thanks guys. If you mean the trigger return spring, That was the first thing I changed I did a little more work as far as polishing the top of the trigger that makes contact with the sear and that helped a lot. I really hate working the sear notch too much as it will bump off when ya close the bolt if I take too much metal out. I use a 1/4" diamond eze lap for removing the burrs and under cutting the notch and it cuts quick. It's right at 1.5lbs yet not as crisp as it could be but it's still 10 times better then it was when it came from the factory I'll fire a couple hundred rounds through it and see what happens.
