Craigster, I have started coating the bore and anything that I do not want to rust with black lacquer paint. It holds up well and then when I am done, lacquer thinner takes it off easily

A few months ago I asked for Rust Blue basics..... got several excellent replies from Jack Belk, Chic Worthing, Bill Soverns and others..... printed the replies and put them in my notebook, rounded up several old junk take-off barrels and started practicing......got some really nice tent stakes now....
I took one of my favorite rifles apart last week..... got the barrel ready to blue.... what's going to happen if I leave the nearly new hot blue inside the action, feed rails mag well, etc and just rust blue the OUTSIDE of the action??
some areas inside the action look impossible to card off.... thanks CSJ.
