Any thoughts on the Danzig 1916 Gew 98 action...
there is a sporter for sale built on this action that is priced right, $350.00. One of my initial concerns is they hung a 220 swift on it, don't know if the pressures generated by the swift were compatible with the older steels.

In a 98 a .220 swift is fine.
I have a .220 swift on a 1891 Argentine and it shoots just fine.
the action should be fine. I might be interested in the take off barrel though.

If you are buying it strictly for the action, there are better actions for less money. If you are buying it as an already made sporter in a caliber you enjoy then I would say go for it.

I buy Mauser actions, parts, micrometers, tools, calipers, etc. Specifically looking for pre-WWII Mauser tools.

tu2 For a nice hunting Mauser you can pick up MKX actions for $350 or less.
