I own a 1954 production M64 Winchester in 32 Special. I want to find a receiver sight to put on it along with an older sourdough front. Does anyone have the reference tables for Redfield or Lyman that show which sight model I would be looking for? Also a source for the sourdough insert since they are becoming tough to find. Thanks.

Brownell's has a remake of the Sourdough. Lyman's receiver sight # is I think #55. Williams makes a Foolproof for the 94, but I'm not sure Redfield makes them anymore. Williams also makes the 5D for Marlins and 94s, but IMHO, it's a piece of crap. Usable but crap. Currently, I see no real difference between the Lyman and Williams as they are both now made of aluminum. If you want a steel Lyman or Redfield, I suspect you'll have to haunt the gun shows to find one. Paul B.

Look on eBay for a Lyman 66A or a Redfield 70E. Both sights are high quality steel, no longer made. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

Try Gary at (817) 346-9633. He carries more old Lyman,Williams and Redfield sights than anyone I have ever seen. He’s really slow to answer, but I have bought several Lyman 48’s from him and they were really nice and the price wasn't bad. He runs ad‘s in Precision Shooting and Gun Weekly all the time.
