At the range a guy was mentioning that metal conditioning oil that was developed,,, cant remember the name . It starts with a M. Same stuff that was used in airplane motors and were some off shoots of it for auto engines. It was supposed to condition the metal and reduce wear. Guy at the range was saying you could treat your barrel with it and it would clean easy and reduce wear. bla bla Anyone remember the name of the stuff?

It sounds like Microlon. A search engine will give results. Interesting claims. I wish I had the time to perform a proper test.

Microlon, sounds like that might be what the dude was talking about. There was a rant about this stuff a few years ago. A friend of mine bought a couple 5 gals of it and put it in the engines of his equiptment and work trucks. The shit is expensive and was supposed to be wonder anti wear additive developed for airplane motors. Some guys were treating thier barrels with it supposedly. Never ever heard it mentioned on AR though.

Look at the MSDS sheet for the Microlon Gun Juice. One of the ingredients is Stoddard solvent... which I think is nothing more than oderless mineral spirits.
