I didn't want to highjack someone elses thread, so I posted this here. I am going to build a swich barrel rifle and I was wanting to use a Ruger MKII in 6.5X55 as the vehicle for this project. I'm planning to have Z-Hat setup a 3200 Hawk barrel as the switch. However, 2 things came to mind; 1. What length action does Ruger use to build their 6.5x55 on? If it's the short action, this won't work. 2. the cartridge rim diameter on the Swede is .0480", the stnadard "06 case rim diameter is 0.473 ... that makes the 6.5x55 rim 0.007" larger. Is this too much clearance for the bolt face to support a '06 case? Would the '06 case center up on the firing pin hole enough? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. | ||
