How long to wait for bedding to cure before firing?

Just wondering what the consensus of opinion is on waiting for a bedding job to cure before firing. I usually wait at least a week but I'm getting anxious to shoot the rifle. It is a Model 70 7mm STW. The bedding material was Acraglas Gel...your opinions please.

Thanks
Paul

Minimum of 2 days. I shot my 338 Edge after 3.5 days.

48 hours is adequate. If you use heat from a lamp or a low heat - around 120 degrees F - you could use it earlier.

It depends on which bedding compound you used and the temperature. Some cure much slower than others.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry

G'Day Fella's,

Paul, IIRC Brownells recommend you leave their Acra-Glas epoxy bedding compound for 5 or 7 days!
I would wait this same amount of time, for any other Two-Part Epoxy as well!!!

Hope that helps

I wait at least 24 hours but each epoxy compound will tell you when full strength has been achieved.
