Mauser small ring M98
Is There any reason to be afraid of using a small ring m98 on a 9.3x62, some people told me they are not as strong as the normal m98
Thanks
Flip
Smallring mausers come in a lot of different flavors besides the M98 configuration. Are you sure what you have is a true M98 and not a M93, M96 etc.? If so and the cartridge will fit, yes you should be fine.

jeffeossoyou can easily do a small rinig 98 in 376 steyr, but the 9,3x62 is just OVER the optimal length for these ations.. 3.35 round, in a 3.1 action.
it's DANG hard to get 3.35 into a 3.1!!
like TC said, m ake sure it's a 98
A smallring 98, with a small ring barrel shank, should be no problem. I am having a Brno commercial action (22f) converted.

hawkinsThere is not a lot of metal left forward of the locking seat. If you blow a case head it may let go. Of course a lot of other bad things would also happen. The 03 Springfield is really a small ring Mauser.
Good Luck!
