Ladies and Gentlemen:

Where can I find out what the original Mauser factory proof pressure loads were when they proof tested the 1898 Mauser rifles and the various contract actions like the 1908 Brazilian, 1909 Argentine, VZ-24, etc.?

What publications do you recommend.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Chris Bemis

You might try asking the same question in the European Hunting section. Some of our Euro members know quite a bit about Mausers.

There isn't much relevence in the question since the methods of measurement were quite different back then from how they are measured today.

I believe Speed's book touches on this as does the Argentine Mauser book.
