I have a client wanting to build a rifle with a MRC short action in left hand. Seeing as he wants to save a few bucks, he wants the stock inletted from a pattern. Does anyone know of anyone who has a pattern. It is not cost effective to build a pattern for one stock. Jim, I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but Richards Micro lists it on their available actions list RMF actions list

You could check with Tim R up in Wirt (Northwood gunstocks). I dropped a short and a long MRC 1999 action off in November. He was going to bed them for a pattern stock and mill out some bastogne stocks for me this spring. One was a left, but I can't remember if it was the short or long. It should not matter, I think the bottom is symetric and he can just leave the bolt cut to be done by hand. He has a variety of pattern stocks, including the Winchester patterns. He has the duplicator and patterns from a place in California, I think it was Richards or Royal (of Microbed fame, not the current Richards Microfit). If you ask, may be it will get him going on mine. Roger

You might also try Dennis Olsen in Plains, Montana. I'm pretty sure he's done up a few of the MRC receivers and he does pretty good work too. Prices are real reasonable. Williams Machine Works
