This is probably a stupid question, but I have a pre war model 70 that I would like to convert to the pre 64 model safety. Could it be as simple as just a straight swap?

I've never done it, but I bet that's all there is to it. Phil

The pre war operates in the opposite direction. I'd be curious to know as well.

I am sure they would interchange, there are a number of used units around. Fitting may be a problem left to someone who knows their way around. Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild

Sorry, I do not have any Tilden levers left. Duane, I had to laugh, just last week my wife asked me if I thought about making anymore of the Tilden levers Any of the M70 PRE 1964 M70 sleeves will thread on and index, and can be fitted to your rifle BY someone who knows what they are doing. this is not a job for BUBBA or most Brother in Law's None of the post 1964 sleeves will index properly due to the thread indexing was changed on purpose J Wisner
