I recently picked up a S&W 1500 which is nothing but a Howa/Vanguard with a nice walnut stock. It's a 30/06 and it shoots great. I tried H-4350 with 165 Gr. Hornady's and Nosler Partitions. It shot great with both bullets. Easiest load development I've ever experienced. Tom Z NRA Life Member

Probably very good, that would have been not long after the CMC Mountaineer had become a Howa 1500. Previously 500N with many thousands of posts !
