I recently picked up a S&W 1500 which is nothing but a Howa/Vanguard with a nice walnut stock. It's a 30/06 and it shoots great. I tried H-4350 with 165 Gr. Hornady's and Nosler Partitions. It shot great with both bullets. Easiest load development I've ever experienced.

Probably very good, that would have been not long after the CMC Mountaineer had become a Howa 1500.
