I recently purchased an old style Mark X .300 Win Mag in like new condition. But there is a problem with the iron sights. New condition also, but way off. Front sight is too high and rear sight cannot be adjusted because the screws will not turn.
First question. Did these use to come with iron sights?

2nd question. What loosens loctite?

Heat? Some sort of chemical? Or?

Thank you. Happy Christmas season to all.

I hope no one would use loctite on sight adjustment screws. Locktite = Heat Gun tu2 Correct screw driver? some of these came with Williams front & rear sights. Used to be lots of different height front blades avaliable. tu2 Merry Christmas!

When the locktite gets hot enough to break loose, you will be able to smell it.

I use a small propane torch as used by cooks, has a tiny flame, fits a firearm screw 6/48, 8/40s and larger.

Ive also heated a screwdriver red hot, held it in the screw head with light but firm pressure. you can feel the locktite, fiberglass, whatever break loose.. Good for emergency use in the field..
