Wstrnhntr, Good luck! I finally bought a synthetic one from Midway. I have a nice piece of English for mine, too....just wanted to shoot a bit while waiting. I guess that's what I get for buying a barreled action. #1 stock sets do show up occasionally on the auction sites. There was one on Ebay yesterday.

I have a 1-V stock and forearm for a Number One. I build a lot of Ruger Number One rifles and usually restock them. Anyone interested?

Mark If Matt doesn't buy that set I would be interested in it. ****************************** "We do not exaggerate when we state positively that the remodelled Springfield is the best and most suitable "all 'round" rifle".......Seymour Griffin, GRIFFIN & HOWE, Inc.

WH, Yeah, I also made the mistake of buying a Ruger #1 barreled action at a significant discount and then spent the next several years trying to get a stock on it. After all the headache, letter writing and effort - should have bought a complete rifle! Fajen finally provided and excellent semi-finished stock (full-length mannlicher - looks cool!) but that was years ago and they're out of that specific type of business now. Since you've already got a stick of wood, getting it duplicated for a Ruger #1 ought not to be much of a problem, my sugestion is to contact "The Great American Gunstock Company". They've got a great web site explaining all sorts of options. Cheers, Gerry Cheers, Number 10
