I would appreciate any input as to my options from rechambering a .300 RUM. Im not a fan of the cartridge, but a buddy wants to make me a great deal on a M-70.

Many thanks.

The only cartridges that could be done would be the 338 Edge or the 358RUM and both of these are wildcats and would also require reboring of the barrel. IMO, the only viable options are to shoot the rifle as is or rebarrel to something you'd rather have but that is going to be limited with the large bolt face of the RUM, such as one of the WSM's.

The 300 RUM is a great cartridge. The bolt face is a standard magnum.
