Stinger, here is a link that source that has sets of Mauser screws. You will have to click on Action Screws under the heading of Trigger Group Parts on the left hand side to find them. The price is pretty good too. How was your winter there? Hope enough pheasants survive to keep me smiling next fall.

thanks for the link. but i need to buy a tap so i can chase the threads. the winter here wasn't. i can only recall three days when it was below zero.snowed like heck yesterday evening, but it's almost all gone now. if we don't have a monsoon this spring the pheasant population should be fantastic. as you know a lot depends on the spring weather, if it's too wet that isn't good for the chicks. no pun intended. where do you hunt here? the public hunting areas here are great places, but you have to work a bit to hunt them. areas around sakakawea are loaded, but it's pretty heavy cover. personally i'm more interested in partridge and grouse. they have really been hurting population wise the last few years. last year was kind of a comeback cycle for them. have a good one and keep in touch. Stinger, we hunted around Ashley and being only 6 miles from S Dakota, we hunted there in the afternoon. Had a great time and ran into a few sharptails. My hunting partner got a rooster on the first afternoon on the way to Ashley. It was a gold or cinnamon colored bird but had some vague traces of green on the neck, spurs and very pretty coloring. I will get a photo from him when he gets back from his kids spring break and post it. Our pheasant hunting here is virtually nil. I have a 2 1/2 yr old English setter who worked beautifully for me on the trip. I find it more fun just to be with the dog and watch him work than the hunting itself. Looking forward to next year. It is surprising that you didnt have much of a winter. Our snow pack in the mountains is 150% of normal. We have had some dry years lately but this one was very good for snow.
