Does anyone have experience with the 0.6 and 0.8 inch thick decelerator pads? I’ve used the one inch pads exclusively but I was wondering how effective the thinner decelerator pads are at reducing recoil. I’m building a 280 Rem with a short length of pull for my wife, and I got to thinking that a thinner pad would look better.

Absolutely; I use a lot of all 3 thicknesses; mostly .8 and 1. They are all made from the same material, so recoil reduction is commensurate with thickness. If you really want recoil reduction, don't use a .6 inch. Use a .8 or one inch if you are serious.

I replaced the ventilated hard rubber pad on my Mauser 404 with an 1" Pachmayr Decelerator pad and had thought of using a thinner pad to shorten the LOP which is quite long on the A Type Oberndorf Mauser sporters. Couldn't get a thinner pad in the red colour I wanted so went with the 1" pad (as in images below) and found that the LOP felt shorter, probably because of the more rounded profile of the Pachmayr compared to the square profile of the ventilated pad i.e. tucked deeper into the shoulder better and much more pleasant to shoot.
