If you want to use a cool action like that but don't want to deal with the length, why not go to the 375 Taylor. You should get good performance and it will fit. I am having an 03a3 taken out to 416 Taylor, if that will work surely the 375 will. It is a 338 win mag necked up.

I had a brain cramp last night as I was pondering building my 375. I am going to use a FN Commercial action and put new bottom metal etc.. on it. But that got me wondering if a Springfield 03 or 03A3 action is capable of becoming a 375 H&H. It seems like it should work. Does anybodt know if this has been done? If possible it would probably be a very classy rifle.

i wouldn't do a 03, and I would think about a 375HH... i did a 300 win in one.

long road to get there, btw, as everything is setup for mausers...

a mauser mag box CAN be adapted, but you had better be a good metal guy to get there

I am using the Springfield action I have to build a 35 Whelen on. I was just curious if the 03 action could be made to handle the 375 H&H and if it had ever been done.

In fifty years of fooling around with 03s I have never heard of a .375 H&H.
