I've found a Sako full stock carbine in .30-06 and am wondering if it would be a candidate for rechambering into .300H&H ?

It is on the AIII action and a factory load 185gr 300H&H fits nicely in the magazine.

This would be a nice companion for my full stock Sako .375H&H.

What other work would likely be required?

Rechamber and open up the bolt face. It seems a short barrel for the 300, but whatever floats your boat I say. - Dan

i've done this to 300 win.. just to make my life easier... only rail work to do

and what dan said... the barrel is pretty short... try rl22 and 180 or 220 grain pills

Will a 300 H&H reamer clean-up a 30-06 chamber?

Hmmm. maybe not with the neck Diameter!

There is no option of shortening the barrel further I guess. wood would need shortened at the joint on the fore end too.

Shorter would loose more FPS I suppose too.
