Working out the details on a new .375 project. It will be on a 1909 Argentine. If you were going to have a small amount of engraving done on the receiver, does it have to be annealed or surface ground beforehand?

Depends on how hard the receiver is and the person doing the engraving.

But in most cases the engraver would like it annealed.
