I have a M1999 that feeds great from the left side but from the right side it's difficult to get the cartridge to "pop up" out of the mag box... There are no burrs under the right rail. It does feed from the right side but it takes a pretty good bump with the heel of your hand. Any suggestions on where to look....BTW, it's a .375 H&H...

I should assume you already have, but if not, did you check for symmetry in left and right feed rails, and maybe ramp? Sounds like maybe the right rail is not cut out as far as the left, so that as the round is being pushed to the right from underneath there isn't as much clearance as when it is pushed up and to the left. Oh, and to answer your question, first place I'd look is my 'smith! [ 06-26-2003, 10:52: Message edited by: Bwana-be ]

I think you should inquire with the manufacturer first. Sometimes these things are as simple as switching out the follower.

Rancher, Please email me at mtrifle@montanarifleman.com so I can check the records to ensure that the proper follower was sent. I'm sure it was but 500grains is correct it may be a simple fix by swapping the follower, let me know and if necessary we'll send you a different follower. You could also stone the rail a little bit. The rails are machined but may contain a little roughness, also polish the ramp a little and I think your problems will dissappear.
