I have a tip down H&H rook rifle with a ruined bore. Could someone recommend a gunsmith to bore it to 410 shotgun?

Why not have it relined?

Or even rebored/rerchambered depending on what it had been. I've seen 297/250 or 300 Rook done into .38 Special rifles and they work great.

Yes, I'd vote to reline or rebore up. When I lived in Tampa, FL in the early 1990's, there was a fair amount of folks shooting .38 spcl single shots. Cast bullets and small charges. They had a blast.

I have a Rossi 357 22inch single shot with 2.5grs of red dot. 158gr swaged SWC at 850fps it is super accurate and really quite.

I would contact Robert Hoyt
2379 Mt. Hope Road
Fairfield, PA 17320
717-642-6696

No Email,,Old School
Does a lot of work for the Muzzle Loader and Single Shot crowds.

He's been doing re-bore/rerifling work for likely 45yrs+.

Rifled bores and smooth bores,,large and small.

Excellent work and turn around is generally very fast.

Call him and tell him what you have. I think he will be able to help you out with a plain rebore to .410 smooth bore.
He is likely to have the chambering reamer s well.

In the off chance he does not have the chamber reamer, one can be rented quite inexpensively and the job completed by hand reaming the chamber.
Or the reamer could be ordered and drop shipped to him for finishing up the job.

He can likely bore the bbl with some choke constriction at the muzzle as well if desired.
