Wow, crazy. Maybe these will compete well with the Jeep.

In the "pavement princess, maul crawler" crowd the Bronco should do well. It's passively retro appearance will be a novelty for awhile.

As someone who has owned multiple CJ's and presently a diesel JL I see two areas the Bronco will have issues competing with the Jeep, especially in the short term.

The first is the after market parts arena. Even Jeep owners who never take their jeep in the dirt seem to change bumpers, put on lifts and big tires, etc. I think the Bronco roll out tried to alleviate this problem in personalization by offering 7 or 8 "trim packages". The problem with a trim package is that it is a package. If you want a certain change over a base model you also pay for upgrades you may not be interested in.

The biggest area of competition I have not seen mentioned is the JL Wrangler is perfectly set up for flat towing without causing harm to the vehicle. That's why you see so many being towed behind RV's.

Ha ha... Maybe you are right. But I suspect that the Bronco may do a bit better than you might expect. The flat towing argument is a good one for the Jeep.

I loved my Jeep Rubicon in the hills. It was the best off road vehicle that I have ever owned. The big issue was
that I just could not afford the Chiropractor bills. Between my Dodge truck and Jeep, my back will probably never be the
same.

I test drove one with upgraded 35 inch tires.

The bronco drives a little jittery given its massive tires and off-road stuff. Inside is very nice.

This is a well thought out vehicle. Ford has spent a lot of time studying the Jeep.

If I had to drive 300-400 miles to hunt - I would much prefer my f150 to the bronco.

If I had to drive 50-100 miles to beach/fishing this would be fun.

Will make a decision on buying one in next 2 weeks.

Good idea to test drive. I suspected that the ride may not be great.

Although I’m sure the 35” tires make look nice, I’d certainly change them (downsize)
Good luck with your decision

If I get one I will get a plain Jane base 4 wheel drive version. I have little interest in trail or anything, just be able to feed the deer stands and drive out to the 300 yard range.

yes - if you want a factory hardtop.

I want a sissy non sasquatch plain jane 4 wheel drive with 33 inch tires that will ride okay on the highway.

News this week is the Bronco-based pickup is cancelled. Too many other competing Ford products (Ranger and Maverick).

I was out looking at ranch property with my company's real estate agent last Friday morning. Wife and I got in his Ford 4wd powerstroke 2500 to view the property. Crossing a flat spot, he eased off into a patch of gumbo mud. Yep. Stuck!

Of course I walked back to my Ram 4wd 2500 Cummins, drove out on the same patch of gumbo and promptly pulled him out!!

He'll never live it down. And by the way, this is the second Ford of the same specs he's had this year. The first one shit the engine with less than 10,000 miles. LOL

Probably not; here is the only type of SUV I own, and I have 6 of them. Not all the same model but all the same color; in my world, everything is some shade of OD.
This one I just restored from the ground up, is a 64, M606, used by the ROK Army.

Thanks; I do a MV every two years. Every nut, bolt, and washer is removed and restored/replaced, except the T90 transmission and T18 transfer case, and the differentials. For the most part, those components are indestructible. WW2 T84 transmission; piece of crap.
Bronco; I want one in OD green.
Here's another one; Guess it's an SUV:
