OH yeah and the guys who said polaris? have you ever owned one?LOL they are the most unreliable POS atv out there.

Yeah I have owned one for thth last 10 years and its been the complete opposite of what you report. I looked them ALL over before I made my purchase and there are faster and lighter out there for sure but at 4800 miles the only problem I have had was a fuel pump rebuild. Still has the original belt
still has the original everything (including the air cleaner Which I should change) I clean it though.
Still running the stock spark plug also for that matter.

I dont want to get into a pissers But if you really cant count how many times a Polaris has been drug behind your whatever you should find or make new friends that know how to take care of thier rides. Because sooner or later (and I know this for a fact) It aint no fun trying to keep a man alive on a hillside while giving lifeflight GPS coordinate to fly his ass out of a cituation he put himself into being an irresponsible ASS.

Every company makes a good one for the last 10 or so years and I have pulled mostly Hondas and Yamaha from some of the most inconvenient places North Idaho has to offer and it was not the machines fault.. It was a over Zelous rider trying to prove his machine was more capable.

Just my 2$ worth as they when mistreated ARE not cheap to fix.
Mine still runs like new also and it aint no cherry when it comes to the hills.

I did have to replace the Rawhide tires @4400 miles though.

Sorry for the rant but watching a guy get crushed by a dumb ass stunt still 8 years later still bothers me to this day. What happened that Beautiful September afternoon ended up being an October Funeral for a young man who just started to live his life.

Cal, the motor is nice, pulls a lot harder than it's hp rating. I would have went with a Yamaha had Kawasaki not made some improvements on the suspension and the power steering has really saved my arms. Not from easier steering but from the bump steer the power steering unit absorbs. I rode the Can Ams, great power but the rest of the quad didn't do it for me. If I were twenty years old I imagine I would have been all over a Can Am. These days I want a comfortable quad that fits me well. I rarely hot rod my atv anyways. I like to putt around and enjoy the scenery. Smiler

Been running the same Polaris 500 for 12 years. Gets regular preventative maintenance, nothing more. Very dependable machine and nothing rides better. Pulled 2 Hondas out the swamp last year.
Giving it to my Son for his deer lease and buying another Polaris this month. No snow here, so can't help you there.
