Saw this one on the side when I clicked on the previous post. I am not trying to discredit a hunter taking a nice buck, but this reminded me of deer camp listening to my uncles talk about all the big deer they shot Big Grin In the case of the video though, I think they forgot to make the metric to standard conversion. Nice buck but in no way is that thing 180+ and 300lbs.

Deer looks all of 180" to me. Doesn't look like 300 lbs. though.

The deer has a lot of mass but not a lot of height. The side to side deductions will also be significant. I figure that this is in the mid 160's after deductions. You have to keep in mind that mass does not add that much, its the length of tines that more important. Look at the B&C field judging guidelines. Take a hard look at the 160 class they have pictured and the length required for that score.

You're prolly not far off after deductions. Those extra tines on a 12 always add to an o/w semi-unimpressive rack score......mind you, still a nice deer.

What's your guess on this 12 (or 6 as they say in MT)? I shot it a few years back on the last morning in the last hour of a 5 day hunt with my bud. The other side has 6 also.

Hard to say with the head turned like that. I have a hard time gauging width. If the left side is a fairly close to the right I would put it in the mid 140's. Very, very nice deer!!!

Ya...I won't question your scoring again my friend...150 gross and 144 after deductions.

Thanks, he was truly a last second buck. I missed a 180-class deer about a mile from the same spot a few years back.....we don't get a lot of practice shooting through a scope at running targets 200 yards away out here in NH.
