Fregate Island, Selection Five

We have been on a short visit to Fregate Island, and of course had a great time.

I have selected a few photos of the island for your enjoyment.

I have other selections which I will post later of the birds and Aldabra turtles.

Saeed, you take the BEST photographs! Landscapes, flora and fauna. But no people?

The only people on the island are either hotel guests, or hotel employees, so I avoided taking pictures of them.

All of the pictures are great but the bird pictures are the best I have ever seen. Thanks for posting them.

Just awesome, the Helicopter ride must be worth the trip, not counting anything else.

Wonderful photos, Saeed.

I wonder what are the names of those birds? Amazing beauty and variety.

I believe that I saw four man-made bracelets on one of them. I wonder what the story is behind that?

The black bird is the Seychelles Robin. It is only found on the Fregate Island apparently.

I have a few more photos of different birds to post later on.

Yes, many of the birds are banded. By who and for what? Have you done any fishing for bonefish there?

Saeed, I spent 5 days in the seychelles in 98 while on deployment with the USMC. It was the most remarkable place and probably the most beautiful of all the places i have seen. Sunsets over the Indian Ocean can be truly amazing. Your photos are excellent and remind me a great time i had there. It was one of those places you feel like you could live foreever! Thanks for sharing.

I missed this before!?

The photos were taken by 3 cameras.

A Nikon 300Ds with a 28-200mm and a 70-300mm Nikon lenses.

A Sony HX1 and a Panasonic TZ7.
