If someone told me about that(without the video) I would never have believed them.

Has anyone else seen anything like this?

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

I had a similar incident when I shot a bull bison, two other bulls came over and started goring and pushing even lifting a 1600 pound animal, no one including myself was brave enough to try and chase them off, it took 3 pick ups to surround the bull and they kept looking for a way in, must be the smell of blood or rut that makes them go goofy

Why don't you change you little cartoon. It gives me five minutes of whirling ball as my computer downloads your cartoon, almost like a virus. I do not want to fill my computer with such things. I will not click on any topic which you have commented upon.

Absolutely amazing video, could you claim self defence and take the other without a tag:-)
Not in the same league but have seen a buck rabbit turn on his dead mate and rip into him hard enough to literally make the fur fly ....
Love the cartoon tag by the way.....

Twice I have had a buck show extreme aggression toward a deer on the ground. I shot a buck on a Michigan ranch hunt. He went straight down and out of nowhere another buck appeared and gored him in the side and flipped him over. We had to chase him away. A different time a friend had shot a good buck and we had it back at the ranch positioning it for pictures when another buck came walking stiff legged out of the woods to go after the buck on the ground. Both were in the rut period.

My wife shot a pronghorn doe @ 200 yds w/.308, it was pretty much dead on its feet when a pronghorn buck started mounting it, even tried after it was on the ground dead, and we were walking up to it. Ungulate necrophilia!

I had a client that I was guiding on my ranch in West Texas. He shot a nice Mule Deer and the buck fell then instantly out of nowhere another big buck slams the shot deer in the side in a vicious attack with no attention to us whatsoever. We were about 50 yards and in the open with our horses..He was wild, so since I had not filled my tag I shot that one and he fell on top of the other deer..It was an exciting event to say the least..The hunter, Monty Lords son, I was guiding was a teenager from Houston, Texas whos dad owned the 75,000 acre ranch I was leasing, South of Marathon, Texas was on his first deer hunt.

Needless to say he became an avid deer hunter, and supporter of the Second Amendment tu2

This was in November and the deer in that area do not run until late Jan. or early Feb. It was strange.
