Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Nicest little town in all of the Middle East. Makes all the others around it look pretty rough.

I honestly love Dubai, it's been a second home for me in my Navy years.

The range is underground in my house. There is a loading room, and a glassed in shooting area. The tunnel is 100 yards long, and we use sand bags for bullet stop. There are about 35 bags stacked together at the end of the tunnel.

We replace them a number of times a year as they get shot up and disentegrate.

We have two extractor fans on the roof of the tunnel. One is at about 35 yards, and the other is at the end of the tunnel.

saeed - a thought for you - we're having great success using ground up old tires (recycled rubber they call it) for backstop material. seems to not need as much as sand and lasts longer

As it is an indoor range, I think we would rather stick with sand. Not sure how health all that torn up rubber might be.

You know what's funny I went wadi-bashing in a souped up land cruiser a few years ago and had a hell of a time. Most of it was on this big sand dune about 1000 feet tall. They said it was one of the biggest dunes in the world. I am not sure what direction it was from Dubai, maybe 30 miles away.

Saeed do you know what I am talking about?

They have a gas station across the street from it and a place that rents quad-bikes next to the gas station. It's clear the heck out in the countryside. On the way to this big canyon with a resort and another canyon that had a really nice cool spring.

D99,

I know precisely the place you mean.

We used to drive along those desert roads on the way there and shoot crows and doves sitting on the trees and power lines.

That was long before the population explosion.

Let me know next time in Dubai, you are welcome to come have a drink and shoot at our place.

My introduction to AR was the vids of different shooters using the indoor range while firing some potent loads. I thought I would just fall out laughing and everyone I have shown them to have had the same guffhaws. This was early AR and possibly when it was at its zenith.

Saeed, Amazing place. Looking at what you have at your disposal, all those buffalos never had a chance.

I watched 60 Minutes last night and saw what was above ground in Dubai. That place is out of this world... I have never been to Dubai, but would go in a heartbeat to see that place.

Wow!

Saeed, that range is awesome. I dream of something like that to shoot in especially during some of our great West Texas weather. Nice winds and dirt are usually blowing. Something I'm sure you can relate too. Great job.

Amazing, how times have changed since the mid 70's when we used to go out to Wadi Hatta and plink with .22 's. I saw last year that Captain Store is still in Deira, but no weapons on sale as far as I saw.

Fabulous set up Saeed, and thanks for sharing it with us.

I have been there several times now and must say that it's impressive; unfortunately, Saeed and I haven't been able to hook up for a visit. I'll be back through in January. Hopefully we can meet for a meal. Lou

Hallo Saeed

Nice forum and shooting range you have! I have seen a lot of the videos on youtube with the 577 T-Rex Rifle and seen all the pictures of your basement on this blog, it looks so cool!

Two friends and I are starting up a website with extraordinary travel activities and we would love to have your shooting range on our website. In order for the video to qualify for beeing a part of our website, the activity on the video must be one that you can try as an ordinary person. When a video is present on our site there activity on the video has to have a specific location.

My question is: is it possible for normal people to try to shoot in your shooting range and where is it located? If so would you like to be on our site?

Our homepage is called togfrog.com

And we have a shooting category where your video would be posted.

Best regards Svenstrup

svenstrup,

Welcome to AR.

All the people you see shooting the 577 T.Rex are ordinary people who come here to shoot for the fun of it.

If you are interested in getting a profile on togfrog.com, you could send us a video and your address and we will make it for you.

You can also make the profile yourself under Share on togfrog.com. But you will only be able to embed videos from youtube, because the upload function will first be finish in two weeks.

Hey Saeed
I just want to inform you that our share function is now called “Add Video” where you can upload videos from your computer or embed it from youtube. We will still love to have a video of the shooting in your cool basement!

Our shooting category is very small right now, but we will love it to have more content, so our users can try all the cool shooting activities around the world. Please help us build up a cool shooting category on togfrog.com .

Everybody who wants to give us some feedback is more than welcome!

Best regards

Thanks for the details, but where is the medical triage room for those newbies who shoot the big beast?
