It does not happen often that we get to see leopard close-up and when it does it is a special moment. I will cherish the moment for many years. We got a call on the radio about a couple leopard cubs and went to investigate. What a pleasure to see these 5 month old cubs just being lazy and inquisitive. At this point we did not see their mother. That night we found out why the mother was not with the cubs that morning: Then the cubs had their turn: I slept like a baby that night and could not wait to download the pictures to see if they were any good. First thing following morning on a unanimous vote we elected to go back and see if they were still there. Surprizingly all three were close at hand and the hyenas had not picked up on the scent. One thing was rather clear though; something or someone upset the mother during the night as she was in a mega bad mood again. The last picture was taken from about 6 ft away from here. Then she abruptly made an about turn and decided she was no longer going to share her food with us. I'm as happy as a hog in slop. | ||
