I have a Bog Pod tripod, but the piece on the end that attaches to the top piece that holds all three legs together is a weak link

There is an an aluminum "plug" that is riveted into the end of the leg (just one side). This allows a good deal of free-play.

Here's what I did:

1. Drill out rivet. Don't go to large. There is a hole that runs all the way through the insert, you don't want to booger this up
2. Remove rivet and remove plug insert.
3. Drill hole all the way through leg.
4. Run a 8-32 tap through the aluminum plug insert and the leg
5. Replace the plug, run a 1"x8-32 bolt/screw through and screw with nut
6. Use Red Threadlocker on nut
7. Grind off excess bolt/screw

Done! Stable sticks now!
