Meet Gunner the Wachtelhund

I purchased a male Wachtelhund as I've been having a hard time getting my female Wachtelhund, Dakota, bred. So, I thought it would be simpler to just buy a male dog.

I picked Gunner up three weeks ago and haven't had time to do a lot of work with him as we've been in the middle of putting new wood floor and tile in the house. Prior to the demolition starting on the house, I was able to work with him a few nights while watching TV.

I decided to take him to the front yard yesterday afternoon to see how we would do.

I'd say he's probably going to make a fine dog!!!

Yes, the wachtelhund tails are cropped, about 1/4 to 1/3 if I remember correctly.

Yes, I believe the VDW is the correct training program. I didn't trial my female, so I'm not 100% though.
