Family dog and gun dog by Richard Wolters are classics and a good place to start.

I always thought Wolters over simplified, myself.

I think the best book ever written on dog training was for Tri Tronics by Jim and Phyliss Dobbs when they worked for Tri-tronics years ago.

I know tritronics is e-collar stuff, and I was a collar trainer.....but their puppy stuff was the best I had ever seen.

My credentials may not be the best.....I only raised and trained three HRCH and one Master Hunter.......but I used the Dobbs method to get all of them started.

Dobbs and Wolters books are both great and would recommend. You might also look at some of Mike Lardy's literature and DL Walters to add to your library. Good luck
